There are many types of LED Desk Lamps on markets, but how many of those could be used for reading? How to select and following hints could be good reference.

1. Light circle

When LED too focus on certain area, it’s easy to form one obvious light circle which yellowish at edge. It leads to strong dark-light comparison and make eyes uncomfortable and tired.

2. Uniformity

North America lighting association confines the maximum lumen over average lumen can not over 5 to 1 and it’s better within 3:1. The pupil will be feeling tired if this ratio was over this range. On the other point, our eyes might get hurt if the LED design is not so uniform and then influence suitable reading light.

3. Multiple images/ghosts

LED was point optical source, and it will produce many images and spread ghosts if lamps design is not well processed. As reading and writing, if will influence the reading quality and this kind of interference could lower the capability of eye vision and get tired and uncomfortable easily.
